Taraxacum 0.618
Taraxacum 0.618 is a short film with references to the relatationship between the Golden Ratio (0.618), and the Fibonacci sequence in nature, along with their use in the arts over the centuries.

The visual style of the film was influenced by the Dutch Still Life Painting movement, it’s context and meanings, but with a twist. The Tulip, featured heavily in the Dutch Still Life genre as a rare, and luxurious item for the wealthy, is replaced with a Dandelion (Latin Name “Taraxacum“).

Often considered a common garden weed, in this film, it’s stem and leaves are adorned with a golden voronoi pattern. Hints of red and white in the petals are a nod to the Tulip, and the gold patterns, the rich and wealthy.

In a setting akin to a scene from a Sci-Fi film, there’s a visual play on the scene’s context. A flower is orbited by what could be stars, and asteroids. Is it a Sun? Or is it a traditional still life setting?… Both maybe?

This is a film about growth and balance. The futility of material wealth and the fragility of our existence which is becoming at odds with nature.
